Filling Pieces

Designing footwear by building a custom AI model, to speed up the design process and enhance creativity.

This was my graduation project for the Integrated Product Design Master at TU Delft, check out the full report here

A presentation slide titled 'Modern Architecture' showing three categories: Brick, Footwear, Style. The slide displays images of sneakers, modern furniture, and architecture. A section at the bottom mentions training a generative AI model with moodboards to manage visual design language for branding, footwear, and style.
Diagram showing a workflow for generating new sneaker silhouettes, including reference images, custom trained LoRA models, and image enhancement from before to after.
Diagram showing the workflow for generating variations of a sneaker silhouette, with labels 'Controlling the silhouette,' 'Influence of the image style,' and 'Making variations.' The diagram includes visual nodes and connecting lines on a black background.
A digital workflow diagram for updating shoe images and styles, showing steps for controlling the line work and adjusting influence, with text annotations.
A chart illustrating the benefits of AI in a creative process, featuring rows of various shoe images, and text listing advantages such as faster ideation, reduced time-to-market, less reliance on physical samples, innovation, enhanced creativity, and increased visual communication.
Diagram of a white sneaker highlighting features: heel clip for stability, technical waterproof nylon mesh, heat pressed polyurethane mudguard, and a shank for torsional stiffness, with annotations indicate each feature.
